About Me
My Background
The first time I drew something worthy of being called art was in 7th grade art class. It was of 'my hand,' and then again In August 2020, 'The mouthpiece.' I did not realize at the time the significance of those body parts of expression or tools. This was during the most challenging time of my current existence. I was suffering from years of auditory voices within my mind...(Just like Van Gogh, the famous artist I later discovered). Expressing what was happening inside was like trying to make sense of madness. So I poured my heart into artwork.
I was surprised at the artistic ability I had within, and this is what got me out of 5+ years of constant (24hrs a day & night, yes, it/he even got into my dreams) mental torture on earth. Let's call the stress 'D' for devil or deuterium. Spirit or science, whatever it was, needed to be expelled and weakened. Only faith, sound nutrition, and healthcare seemed to be the antidote. Being a 'self' taught artist comes with advantages and disadvantages; I had to learn as I went along, and it wasn't easy, but I always got back up.
My themes usually center around nature, the human body, beauty, and emotions. My background as a Naturopathic Doctor, Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist, Spiritualist-Healer & Scientist also played a pivotal role in my healing and recovery to sanity. We now have a stronger connection than ever before, and they are always with me, giving me strength, comfort, and supportlike nothing else I have ever experienced. I have had the pleasure and honor of hearing music of the heavens in my head to soothe my soul and chase out the negativity. Music from the otherside without any man-made devices. That's just a glimpse of the wondrous love of the divine I encountered.
I'm still in the mid stages of learning more about my own artistic style. You can see my journey and development through the paintings, be they abstract art or nature-inspired 'masterpieces. I look forward to my future works, as I get inspired daily.
Thanks for your interest as fellow art enthusiasts, collectors, and individuals interested in the connection between art and natural medicine healing, or just as another human on this life journey. This is a part of my contribution to the mosaic to assist in the awakening as a collective.
My Medium
My hand, not only my tool but it too tells my story. Those two marks appeared during my mental struggles. It serves as a reminder to me of what I went through. Two, possibly because there were two main segments to my story of beauty and pain. Ironically it appeared in my right hand which I use for my artwork.
I am eclectic in my selections and enjoy working with anything from acrylic, watercolor, oil, or even a camera. I don't have a preference; I work with what I am presented with to produce masterpiece paintings, abstract art, photographs and of late graphic art.
When starting a piece, seeing the final product is usually challenging unless I have something in mind or opt for a more abstract approach. I typically choose my medium or material based on what the finished look should be like. That is part of the beauty of art. It is up to the 'creator' who or what she chooses to work with. If I need more fluidity, I may select watercolor; if I need bold color, I can quickly go with oil or acrylic. I go with the flow and what I'm drawn to. Let's say a beautiful spirit guides me, thank you.

My Inspiration
How did I find heaven on earth? Does everyone want to go to heaven? I have found the answers to these questions through an arduous journey of self-discovery.
I am inspired by the original creator of nature, human nature, and emotions, all of which give me a sense of purpose and creativity. Experiences that move the soul are at the root of my work. Artists like Van Gogh, Monet, and urban artists influence my work. Biblical stories of people like Job, who lost it all and regained so much in the end, are also reminders of the spirit which lies within some of us. The degree of loss I have suffered, be it financially, physically, spiritually, or to my character, is of epic proportions, but I never gave up. I also see the same strength in cancer survivors or any tragedy survivor. My work and the ability to do my part to contribute to the betterment of society and people's health while making an impression keeps me going.
I aim to produce a piece that anyone might consider a masterpiece in their eyes, which is undoubtedly an honor. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and art requires connecting with the heart and spirit of the artist to understand the varying messages that may be encoded. Using paintings, drawings, photographs, or any other media to demonstrate life from my perspective is certainly one of the greatest gifts I have been blessed with.
